Former Arsenal player Gervinho has openly criticized Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after completing a £7million move to the Italian side AS Roma.
Wenger revealed the Gervinho transfer by explaining that he thought it was best to sell the player because he lacked confidence when he played at the Emirates Stadium.
Following his revealing at club on Wednesday, the Ivorian international slammed Wenger for using these words for him.
While talking to the reporters, Gervinho said: “That is his opinion. I won’t make a judgement on that but I would have preferred that he give me that confidence.
“Wenger is one of the best managers in the game and I have enormous respect for him.
“But sometimes a player needs to play and a manager needs to know when to given a player confidence.
“With Rudi [Garcia, Roma manager] I have that. And I have confidence in my ability.”
