From David de Gea to Manuel Neuer

After David de Gea declined the chances of a possible move to Real Madrid to become Casillas’ long term replacement, Madrid are looking forward to signing Neuer.

Before Lindegaard’s injury this year, David was struggling to regain his lost position at United and that led the rumours forward. However, David de Gea denied any such claims saying he would struggle at United and make himself better.

David de Gea was transferred from Atletico Madrid for £18 million and was brought as a replacement for United’s goalkeeping legend Edwin van der Sar. However, since his transfer, life has not been very easy for him.

After hearing that, Real Madrid have switched their interest to the German Manuel Neuer who is to become a long term replacement for the Spanish legend-in-the-making Iker Casillas.

Neuer was transferred from Schalke to Bayern Munich for a fee of £17 million. He kept a remarkable record of ten clean sheets in ten matches.

Neuer has received 35 international caps and Real Madrid are ready to pay a large amount to sign the German who could become a big name in the future.

However, nothing is affecting the form of the Spanish and Real Madrid keeper, Casillas, who continues to be the mentor he is, at Madrid. He has played for Real Madrid all his life and has played 14 senior team seasons at the Bernabeu. He is only 31 years old and still has a few years to play.
