Miralem Pjanic, Arsenal’s new target has been closely linked to the Gunners since last night. The Bosnian attacking midfielder is known for his class act performances on the pitch and has been regarded as an old style playmaker with exceptional ability and skill for creativity.
According to Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, Roma officials are now flying to London to revive the move for their highly rated midfielder Miralem Pjanic. Pjanic was on the verge of signing for Arsenal in 2011 when he was at Lyon but a deal fell through.
Roma’s sporting director today arrived in London for a move for their highly rated winger Erik Lamela to Tottenham. Apparently Arsenal’s derby rivals are close to landing in the Italian sensation for a move considered to be around 35m. While Roma’s Walter Sabatini also is planning to talk to the Gunners’ boss about a possible move for Pjanic who’s heart is set at a move to North London.
The Daily Mail reported in June that according to Pjanic he was set to join Arsenal two years ago. He said he received a number of offers from clubs including Arsenal but his father had already given his word to Roma. Pjanic revealed everything had been agreed with the Premier League club but because they had made a promise to Roma they had to turn down a move to England.
