Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that most of the signings take place in the final week of a transfer period due to a number of reasons.

Arsenal fans have been impatiently demanding their club to sign more players as their team is currently on 6th position in the Barclay’s Premier League.

Arsenal, on the other hand, has been linked with many players but they are yet to make any signing. However, this has not worried Wenger and he has assured his fans that more signings will be made as the period progresses.

“The prices go always up at the start of the transfer window and go down in the last week,” the manager said.

“Sometimes as well they go up in the last week but it depends. Most of the time they go down. You know that 90 per cent of transfer activity happens in the last week if not in the last 48 hours.”

Wenger might be hinting here that Arsenal are about to announce a new signing, later this month.

Arsenal has been linked with Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha. Manchester United will be battling Arsenal to sign him and it is said that Zaha grew up as an Arsenal fan. They have also been linked with Napoli striker Edinson Cavani who might be a little too expensive for the north Londoners.

Since Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes rejected new-contract talks, he has also been heavily linked with the Gunners.
