If you want a definition of pure joy, you should have seen Arsene Wenger’s face after the North London Derby ended in Arsenal’s favour. The Frenchman was absolutely delighted and he might be planning to reward the fans for staying loyal – at-least to those who remained loyal throughout the underestimating-Arsenal phase.
The manager has stated that he will only add the kind of players to Arsenal who are ‘super’ quality, yet he said he might surprise the fans today.
“I am not against spending money, but I want to add super quality to our squad,” Arsene Wenger said.
“Tottenham got a lot of money for Bale, they have to invest it – I understand that. The need is different for us, we need one or two super players and we will try to add that.
“We have 24 more hours, so maybe we can surprise you. Maybe not – but I am confident.”
Wenger also highlighted how it is very hard to make signings and nothing can be predictd during the last 24 hours, but the boss promised that he is willing to pay even above the market price.
“It is a little bit like a domino game. Maybe something will happen in the last 24 hours, maybe not. It is very difficult to predict,” said the Gunners’ boss.
“I am ready to pay what we can afford, even if it is a bit over the market [value] and as long as it is not crazy. I am not against spending.”
