As we witnessed in the last transfer window, that rumors regarding Ilkay Gundogan not wanting to sign a new contract at Borussia Dortmund gained pace. This did interest many European Giants to sign him including Manchester United and Arsenal. Then by the end of the window we also witnessed how Ozil’s signing has motivated German players to play in the most exciting league in Europe.
A great hint for Arsene Wenger was dropped today by Gundogan as he refused to rule out the move away from Dortmund and he claimed that talks for a new contract are stalled at the moment.
After failing to bring the Borussia Dortmund star to England during the summer, Arsenal are ready to renew their interest when the transfer window reopens in January, pending the outcome of Gundogan’s negotiations over a new deal at the Westfalenstadion.
Apparently Jurgen Klopp is trying his best to tie him with a llong term contract which will eventually stop the world seeing Dortmund as a ‘selling club’ like Arsenal. Gundogan said that the talks are commencing but no conclusion has been reached. Reports claim his heart his set on joining Arsenal after seeing the Ozil move.
Gndogan said, “There is nothing new to comment on, those talks and negotiations are actually on-going. I am not going to make statements on the contents of those talks. Everyone has to be patient about it, just like I have to be patient in terms of my current injury.”
