West Ham United’s defensive midfielder Mohamed Diame has told his close friends that he wants his Arsenal move to complete this week, Daily Mail has revealed.
Diame had angered his manager Sam Allardyce last week when he turned up late at a team meeting and he would now like his move to complete before the transfer period ends.
Allardyce was not very happy with his team who put up a dull performance against Arsenal and lost 5-1 to them midweek. Diame was supposed to reach the Hammers’ Chadwell Heath training ground at 7 am but he reached an hour late, angering his boss.
Mohamed Diame’s contract has a release clause of £3.5million which the North Londoners are ready to pay.
It is also assumed that Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham will also be making a bid for him before the transfer period closes this week.
Arsenal was also believed to be interested in Diame back in 2008 when he used to play for the La Liga side Rayo Vallecano.
Diame was signed by West Ham United last June from Wigan Athletic but after he angered his boss, he would not like to play for the Hammers anymore. Diame has made 19 appearances for West Ham and has scored 2 goals.
