Chelsea vs. Newcastle – Match Preview

So here comes an interesting battle where you cannot be completely sure about who is going to perform better.

Venue and timings

The match kicks off at 17:30 GMT at Stamford Bridge which is Chelsea’s home ground.

Team Form

Chelsea FC

Chelsea’s game has been creating a lot of buzz as they won their last two matches decently, defeating Reading and Wigan. Eden Hazard, who has so far been a remarkable signing for Chelsea, has made three impressive assists in the last two matches. He definitely is the man to watch out for Chelsea.

Ramires will again be available for Chelsea as he has fully recovered from his injury.
Sturridge might not play due to his toe injury which has kept him sidelined.
Mark Marin will also not play due to his hamstring injury.

Newcastle FC

Newcastle can not be underestimated at all as they last defeated Tottenham Hotspurs on the opening day. Both Demba Ba and Ben Arfa will play and might prove fatal for Chelsea.

Fabricio Coloccini, Shola Ameobi and Sammy Ameobi are doubtfull as the players have mild injuries. Coloccini however might return to face Chelsea.

Newcastle had switched their formation to 4-3-3 while they were facing Tottenham and the team was particularly dominant when playing in that formation. Demba Ba scored after six months which makes it apparent that this suits the team. They will only play this if Coloccini is out.

Recent Meetings

Chelsea do not really have a good past record with Newcastle. They were defeated in the last meeting 2-0 in May.

Chelsea-Newcastle: 0-2, 3-0, 2-2,1-1.

Predictions

Cheslea: Cech, Terry (C), Cahill, Cole, Ivanovic, Lampard, Mikel, Hazard, Mata, Ramires, Torres.

Newcastle: Krul, Simpson, Coloccini, Taylor, Santon, Gutierezz, Tiote, Cabaye, Arfa, Cisse, Ba.

This match will not be easy for both the teams. It might end as a 1-1 draw.
