Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has urged Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas to leave Madrid while giving an interview to beIN Sport.
Casillas was once a symbol of Real Madrid. He represented the club in every possible way and the then captain kept the players together. However, during Mourinho’s managerial era, he was moved to the bench with Diego Lopez maintaining the first choice goalkeeper position consistently. Since then, Casillas has been linked away from the club with Arsenal being in the rumours for a number of times.
The 32-year-old keeper only makes appearances in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey matches, which is not what Casillas deserves according to Santi Cazorla.
Cazorla told beIN Sport: “Casillas should try playing somewhere else.”
Cazorla also claimed that he considers Benzema to be a very different striker while praising him during the interview that was about La Liga and Spanish players.
He said: He’s spectacular, [Benzema] I’ve’s very different to other forwards.”
There’s nothing worth speculation in these comments as the interview was about a lot of players so claiming that these quotes has something to do with Arsenal bidding for Casillas would sound rather absurd.
