Brilliant striker to play for Arsenal

If I had to name one thing this World Cup has promised in its early days, then it’s definitely a ton of surprises. From shocking thrashings to underdogs performing better than big teams, this World Cup has shown us exactly how it is better than its preceding tournaments.

One player who surprised everyone with his form was Joel Campbell. The Costa Rican striker scored one goal along with assisting one to against Uruguay. The striker is a part of Arsene Wenger’s future plans for sure!

The striker-turned-attacking-midfielder rejected Sevilla and Fiorentina in 2011 to join Arsenal from Deportivo Saprissa. However, the player could not attain a work permit and was sent off on loan thrice – to Lorient in 2011, Real Betis in 2012 and Olympiakos last season. However, the player successfully attained a work permit last year.

Campbell said: “I’ve always been ready, I need them to give me the opportunity, which is what I’m working towards.

“I think I’ve matured a lot, personally and as a player

“I’m no longer the same Campbell, but I feel very happy with my growth.”

Arsene Wenger applauded his efforts and said:“He will definitely come back to us for pre-season,” Wenger who is over in Brazil on commentary duty for France television, said. “He is maturing well.”
