Tottenham trying to cheat stuff once again as they are unwilling to sell Lewis Holtby to Schalke 04 because they fear that it will pave way for Draxler’s transfer to Arsenal who has been linked heavily with the North Londoners this January transfer window.
The German side have reportedly targeted a short-term move for their former player as a possible replacement for the £37m-rated Draxler, who has continually been linked with the Gunners.
The Mirror on the other hand has also reported that Spurs’ chairman Daniel Levy has again tried to play one his games as he did the last summer transfer window when Bale’s transfer to Real Madrid saw Mesut Ozil moving to Spurs’ arch rivals Arsenal.
Holtby, who has scored three goals in 21 appearances this season, is believed to be keen on a return to the Veltins-Arena. Holtby is reportedly unsettled at White Hart Lane having failed to force himself into the starting lineup regularly enough since his move to England a year ago.
His agent, Marcus Noack, has claimed that the 23-year-old is looking for first-team football in an attempt to make it into Germany’s squad for this summer’s World Cup, and has acknowledged that Schalke is a possible destination.
