Draxler, one of the top young talents in Germany, has been linked with a move to the Gunners in recent months, while Chelsea and Manchester United are also said to be keen on the 20-year-old. But Arsenal fans might be handed a big boost as the German club’s General Manager has hinted towards his exit from Bundesliga. Reports in recent days suggest Arsenal continue to lead the chase for his signature and quotes from Schalke general manager Horst Heldt have hinted a move could be on the cards.
Schalke’s general manager has said, “We continue to hope that Julian remains,’ he told German newspaper Bild. ‘But there are factors that we can not influence.”
It is also in demand that the 20 year old best German talent has given a verbal agreement to join them. To help persuade Schalke to lose their star youngster, Wenger could look to part with Podolski as part of the deal. The 28-year-old is seemingly out of favour at Arsenal at the moment despite returning from injury, and may be seen as surplus to requirements.
Schalke have been linked with Podolski in the past, and Arsenal will hope the offer of the versatile attacker in return for Draxler can see the two clubs reach an agreement.
