The footballing giants are considering a move for Arsenal’s one of the best midfielders in the recent past, Tomas Rosicky. The Czech playmaker is a fan favorite for Arsenal and is entering into the last year of his contract. Although he is yet to agree an extension, manager Arsene Wenger is adamant Rosicky will stay at the club.
Talks are believed to be ongoing over a new contract but Bayern’s apparent interest could complicate negotiations with Rosicky limited to only seven Premier League starts this season. However, Wenger has often turned to Rosicky in key matches — the Czech international has started five of the Gunners’ eight Champions League games to date — and believes he remains an important part of his future plans at Emirates Stadium.
It is thought that Wenger is hopeful of announcing his own contract extension in the coming weeks alongside fresh deals for Per Mertesacker, Bacary Sagna and Rosicky but the latter pair are proving more difficult to tie down. Arsenal remain confident that Rosicky will commit his future to the club but Bayern’s involvement will test their resolve. Sources reveal that Pep Guardiola is keen on the move for the 33 year old and is a big admirer of the player.
