GiveMeSport has revealed that Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla may leave Arsenal to join Atletico Madrid for lower wages. The reports claim that the player really wants to return to Spain after playing at Arsenal for merely two seasons.
The Spanish source AS claim that Atletico are trying everything in their power to lure away the Spanish star from Arsenal but his wage demands seem a bit too much to the club as they are not in a position to pay as much as Arsenal does.
The website claims that Cazorla could settle for a pay-cut and move to the recently crowned Spanish Champions on a condition that his wages are revised at the end of each season.
Atletico have a fairly just transfer budget in form of money received from the sale of their striker David Villa but they claim that some amount from that deal is being used up to offer a better contract to Koke. Koke wishes to stay at Arenal but he has recently been linked to clubs like Barcelona and Chelsea.
