There is no denying that Gunners are short of options when it comes to the attack upfront. If you see all the top teams in the league have depth and dynamics in the strike department. Manchester City with Aguero, Negredo, Dzeko; Chelsea with Ba, Torres and Eto’o; United with Rooney, Chicharito, Hernandez and Welbeck.
If we put our biasness aside Olivier Giroud despite of being a fantastic linkup player and with a goal or two in his bag, he doesn’t have the threat which all other top strikers in the league such as Aguero or Rooney possess. & If Arsenal are to win the title they need a striker like that as soon as possible. Because of this major concern it looks like that Arsenal have set their sights on Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
Arsenal missed out on big names like Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez in the summer, but could now make an astute purchase in Lacazette, who has been in fine form for Lyon this season.
The 22-year-old is capable of playing out wide as well as upfront, and has provided nine goals and one assist in 17 Ligue 1 appearances so far this term.
Arsene Wenger is known for recruiting the best young talent from his native France, and Lacazette certainly looks a promising addition if the Gunners boss can land him this January.
