BREAKING: Arsenal to fight with Spurs for Midfielder

It has been reported that bitter rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur from London are both ready to lock horns for the acquisition of the critically acclaimed midfielder from Malaga, Francisco Portillo. Arsenal have been looking strongly to fill the void in their midfield as Arteta is aging and hasn’t had a good last season.

According to Football Direct News, the young 23 year old versatile and talented midfielder has been on the London clubs’ radar and a strong bidding war could be expected soon enough in the coming weeks.

The Gunners are keen to bolster their squad after seeing last season’s Premier League title bid derailed to some extent by injuries to key men in the middle of the pitch.

Jack Wilshere, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey all missed important chunks of the campaign.

Spurs are in the process of assessing what they can do differently next term after parting company with head coaches Andre Villas-Boas and Tim Sherwood in the space of five months.

Technical director Franco Baldini, who oversees player recruitment at White Hart Lane, is working his way through a list of targets while chairman Daniel Levy puts the finishing touches to his search for a new manager.
