Arsenal were reportedly far ahead in the talks for the French attacking midfielder/forward who has impressed everyone in Spain while playing for Real Sociedad but the news has just arrived that Paris Saint German have hijacked the deal by agreeing to pay the full buyout clause for the French star Antoine Griezmann.
Griezmann came through the academy of Real Sociedad and has managed to have a wonderful last season under his belt which has attracted interests from many big clubs. The 23-year-old is expected to leave the Spanish side, where he came through the youth academy, this summer, but Griezmann has admitted that he does not have a preference as to where he will go.
TuttoMercatoWeb.com has claimed, PSG have met Griezmann’s €32 million (£26 million) buy-out clause in his Real Sociedad contract and are set to hold talks with the winger and hope to conclude a deal to bring him to the Parc des Prince before the start of the World Cup.
Arsenal are believed to have lodged a bid for the winger that has fallen £8 million short of Griezmann’s buy-clause.
