When the transfer period began, there were a lot of expectations from Arsene Wenger. After all, the Gunners had struggled to reach the fourth position in the Barclays Premier League with their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur hanging over them like a threat. Arsenal seemed to be in great need of new additions, especially a striker who could take the vacant spot left by Robin van Persie.
The transfer period began by linking Arsenal to Stevan Jovetic, Gonzalo Higuain, Bernard, Wayne Rooney, Luis Suarez and Gustavo, and sadly, none of the transfer targets were achieved leaving the fans frustrated. (Even though Arsenal are still trying for Suarez and Rooney, their chances of landing any one of them are very few)
What added fire to the frustrations of the Arsenal fans was their defeat at the hands of Aston Villa in their opening match of the season and a defeat by a 3-1 margin.
Since all of Arsenal’s ‘A targets’ had failed, they are now pursuing other targets.
The Gunners are now in race for Swansea’s Michu who has made much of an impression last season. The Swans will not give him up easily so Wenger will have to spend proplerly in whatsoever condition and land the player otherwise he will have to face some angry fans as well as bad results.
Arsenal have been told to make a £25million bid for Michu, the mirror have revealed.
Michu scoed 22 impressive goals last season challenging the top striker Robin van Persie’s tally at certain points as well.
