Arsene Wenger hasn’t given up in his pursuit for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, as he looks to ease the burden on Olivier Giroud. According to The Telegraph, the Arsenal boss wants to add depth to his striking ranks as he looks to sustain the Gunners’ title push, and has targeted Spanish under-21 star Morata.
Although Real Madrid have clearly presented their suggestion that no one will leave the club half way mark to the season but that really hasn’t stopped Arsene Wenger to continue looking for the highly rated Spain talent.
The prolific French Striker Benzema is also on Arsene’s radar, according to the newspaper, but Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t want both, Morata and Benzema to leave the club.
The talented young Spaniard is seen as a potential signing because of his lack of first-team football this season, but Real Madrid would want him to stay as they need depth in the squad if they want to close down the 5 point gap between them and the league leaders.
It looks likely that Arsenal will have to wait until the end of the season at least if they want to bring in Morata, with Real Madrid only prepared to let him go if they bring in a replacement.
