Arsenal’s obsession with the Real Madrid players continues as there’s another Los Blancos’ player who is on Arsenal’s radar. First Arsenal managed to land the astonishingly creative Mesut Ozil and after a need for the prolific goal scorer upfront The Gunners are giving their all to sign Alvaro Morata either on loan or a permanent transfer.
The Daily Star has claimed that Argentine could be Arsenal’s new winger after Madrid decided to target Juan Mata from Chelsea who’s in search for regular playing time as Mourinho’s tactics don’t look fitting for the Spaniard.
Star says that he is bound for the Bernabeu. But Mata’s arrival will in all likelihood mean that the 25-year-old Di Maria will be sold by Coach Carlo Ancelotti to either the Gunners or United, particularly after an incident during Madrid’s 3-0 win over Celta Vigo on Monday.
Di Maria “grabbed his crotch” when he was substituted during the victory but has subsequently “denied the gesture was in the direction of Ancelotti”. Apparently Di Maria feels he has not had the opportunity to display his ball skills this season after being moved down the pecking order in favour of Gareth Bale, Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Star adds that the Gunners are favourites to land Di Maria, but there’s a warning from Talksport that perhaps they still have some work to do before Real relent. Asked about a possible deal with Arsenal for Di Maria, Ancelotti replied: “No-one is leaving and no-one is coming in.”
