Sports Vibe have revealed that Arsenal are on high alert as Barcelona defender Martin Montoya has claimed that he will hold talks with the club for the last time to finalise his future options.
The right-back is struggling to get a chance to play first team football as Dani Alves plays on that position.
Considering how quickly the World Cup 2014 is approaching, each and every player wishes to play and impress their international coaches. However, Montoya is not getting enough chances and the 22-year-old defender could move elsewhere to pursue his career.
The La Masia graduate has only made 25 appearances for Barcelona since 2011 and has attracted interest from other Premier League clubs as well including Arsenal and Liverpool.
The player’s agent Jose Maria Orobitg has admitted that the player could leave Barcelona at the end of the season.
He told Mundo Deportivo: “For the moment he is under contract with FC Barcelona until the end of the season.
“We have talked but there is no certainty that Martin Montoya would hold down a first-team spot, because right now Daniel Alves closes the door.”
Arsenal were linked with the player in the summer transfer window as well – but Juventus and Liverpool will compete them for this prospect.
