La Cope Radio in Spain have claimed that Arsenal have made a bid for the Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas. The headline must have shocked you because it definitely did shock me.
The source claims that Casillas’ ‘entourage’ understands that Victor Valsed will start the next match for the Spanish side ahead of their captain – who is much more of a leader – and this has affected the keeper as he wants to represent his national side in the World Cup.
Now the question is that will Casillas be ready to leave his boyhood club and join another team like Arsenal where there is already a keeper. Though Szczesny cannot be really compared to Iker, but will Arsene Wenger bench him in favour of the talented Spaniard.
However, it is pretty understood that a person like Casillas will never leave Madrid as he is very ‘loyal’ to them, but consideringhow he has become a second-choice goalkeeper, big clubs are willing to spend money on him. La Cope also says that Paris Saint-Germain have bid for the player, and Manchester City are soon going to bid as well.
Iker Casillas’ is bound to stay at Madrid till 2015, and his release clause is €150million, so technically only ‘serious’ buyers will put forward an offer for him. However, the keeper is expecting a baby in December, and will he like to leave Madrid during those circumstances? I will leave the thinking on you.
