Ajax Amsterdam is one of the classiest clubs in the world and are well known for their quality of talent who are proven all around the world. Reports claim that Arsenal have scouted one of the best talents at Ajax named Davy Klaassen who has been given comparisons to the legend Dennis Bergkamp.
Gunners scouts in Holland at the weekend watched the 20-year-old claim a hat-trick in the Dutch side’s 4-0 win over NAC Breda.
Klaassen’s form this season, where he has scored six goals in eight Eredivisie outings, has seen him tipped for a call-up to the senior Holland squad ahead of next summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
The midfielder, who came through the ranks at Ajax, has been compared to former Arsenal favourite Bergkamp for his ability to both create chances and get on the scoresheet himself.
The Gunners have a wealth of options in midfield, but a player such as Klaassen who has a goal scoring record second only to the injured Podolski in the Arsenal squad this season, could provide back up in a variety of positions and would therefore be a useful asset.
However, having only made eight starts for Ajax and barely out of his teenage years, it has been seen by some as too early to bring the playmaker-come-striker to The Emirates.
Questions have also been raised as to whether it would be wise for Klaassen to move to The Emirates, when it is likely he may spend a lot of the season fighting to make the team.
