Team Form
Manchester United
The Red Devils last played their Champions League match against Galatasaray at Old Trafford where they won by 1-0. However, their performance was criticized because everyone had expected more from the nineteen times England champions. Nani has apparently been performing below his standard which may put him in competition with Ashley Young who has returned after suffering an injury.
Fletcher is most likely to be on the bench as he is making his way back to the first team. Darren Fletcher came on as a substitute when United played Galatasary and returned to football after 10 months. David de Gea is most likely to take his position at the goal post after having a good game against Galatasary. Rooney, Smallings and Phil Jones are out due to injuries.
Liverpool
Liverpool last played Young Boys F.C in the Europa League group match. They secured a good win despite being 3-0 down in the start. Anyway, Liverpool’s previous state might not matter a lot because every time Liverpool take on Manchester United, they play their best game. Liverpool has only two points from four games as they have started this season under Brendan Rodgers. It will be interesting to see what he has planned for United.
Rodgers has rested a lot of his started players in the last match they played so he will have a fresy team ready to face United.Lucas is still sidelined due to his injury while Joe Cole is recovering from a hamstring injury.

Anfield has never provided a good atmosphere for Manchester United. They have lost most of their matches here but had won the last one.
What to expect?
Rivalry matches are always harder to predict. Patrice Evra and Luis Suarez’s handshake could turn out to be an interesting event as last year Suarez was charged for racially abusing Evra. There will be hot heads from the both sides and you may expect some action, other than football. Considering team form, Manchester United are more likely to win this match. 2 – 1 for United is my prediction. Persie may also be scoring a goal.
