Despite of Arsenal not signing a prolific goal scorer as yet, there is still hope as almost all the players linked with The Gunners are strikers. Diego Costa, Karim Benzema and Lewandowski to name a few. Ofcourse Giroud is in sublime form and adds a lot more than just scoring goals. His linking and synchronization with Arsenal’s fast pace, quick passing and possession game is something to applaud.
But any injury to him means no goal scoring threat upfront. Yes Walcott has showed urgency to play upfront but against teams with proper defensive shapes he looks a lost cause. To cancel out this Arsenal are constantly notching up attempts to sign Spain’s best upcoming talent after Thiago Alcantara. It is obvious to everyone that Arsenal need a second-choice striker, a role they failed to address over summer, and whilst it hasn’t affected them yet it could do so later on in the season. Olivier Giroud has performed admirably this season but he can’t be expected to bear the workload by himself.
That’s where Morata comes in. The young Spaniard has made ten appearances so far this season and was subbed on for nine of those. He has played just 210 minutes of football this season but has still managed to grab two goals during that time and create five chances. The young Spaniard is an instinctive finisher and will be just perfect considering the creativity brought by the likes of Cazorla, Ozil and Ramsey behind him.
