Prior to the reports about Robin van Persie’s injury, certain strange and shocking reports have emerged regarding the Dutch striker wanting to leave Manchester United. Is it because that Manchester United are facing problems in the league or that since the appointment of David Moyes the training methods have gotten tough.
Whatever is the case, intriguing news have been flying around that many European giants including FC Barcelona are now seriously monitoring the situation about the Dutch star striker after they let go David Villa to Atletico Madrid.
The Sport newspaper claims that the Dutchman has become unsettled at Old Trafford since David Moyes took over and the team’s form nosedived. The reports claim that Barca executives have been in touch with the United camp via intermediaries and have asked to be kept up-to-date with Van Persie’s situation.
It is suggested they have been told that a bid of €45m would convince the champions to part company with their star striker in January. Pundit Mark Lawrenson claimed last week that Van Persie had asked to leave United, and the Spanish reports also claim that he is prepared to submit a formal transfer request.
