There were many players in the past who left Arsenal for many other teams in the past. Samir Nasri, van Persie and Cesc Fabregas, all left Arsenal for in search of glory and have managed to win silverware. Alex Song is another player who didn’t stop hearing about his link with Barcelona.
The former Arsenal man hasn’t been able to get much playing time in the strong Barcelona midfielder and now reportedly is thinking of leaving the club this January with Sergio Roberto breaking through the first team squad.
It now seems that the Catalan giants are ready to sell him this January, and may set an asking price of around £8.3million for his services.
Arsenal have been linked with a return for Song, though the likes of Manchester United and Napoli have also shown an interest in him in recent months.
Barcelona themselves are on the market for a new midfielder, and Song’s sale may go some way to funding potential moves for the likes of Ilkay Gundogan and Fredy Guarin.
