Arsene Wenger fears that Jack Wilshere’s ankle injury has returned to haunt him.Jack Wilshere remained sidelined for 17 months due to this ankle will again miss the football action for 4 weeks

Jack Wilshere will also miss tonight’s Champions league clash against Bayern Munich and will  also miss England’s next two world cup qualifiers .

Asked if he feared a repeat of how the previous injury started, boss Wenger said:

“Yes. Last time we let him continue to play and it transformed into a stress fracture. That’s why the specialist said we cannot take this gamble.”

“If he did not have the history, maybe he could go on.”

“Nobody knows if it will happen again but it could. He will be out for three to four weeks.”

“We do a regular scan on him and it showed up bone bruising on his right heel.”

“He had some inflammation on the left ankle where he had surgery and compensated to protect his left ankle, putting too much pressure on the right one.”

Now Arsenal is without their main midfielder  and they face a mission impossible task tonight against Bayern Munich where they have to turn the deficit of three away goals.
