Arsenal’s boss Wenger to snub Manchester United

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that Thomas Vermaelen could be exiting the Emirates this summer but he would prefer selling the man outside of England than to Manchester United.

Wenger spoke ahead of his pre-match press conference on Saturday where he revealed that United are interested in signing him but he will sell him elsewhere.

“Vermaelen could leave us because he needs to play now. “
“Manchester United are part of the group (of bidders). He could leave.
“We have offers from abroad and ideally I would rather sell him to a club abroad. We’re in a position where it’s difficult to stand in his way.”

His comments would make FC Barcelona really happy who are – according to some reports – currently in London to finalise the deal.

Vermaelen made 21 appearances for Arsenal only and he often struggles to find a place in the Arsenal line-up ahead of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker.
