French reports suggest that Paris Saint-Germain are very interested in signing Juan Mata, but the Daily Star reveals that before the Ligue 1 leaders do that, they want to sell a player.
They claim that the player in Javier Pastore who signed for PSG in 2011 from Palermo for a transfer fee of around £40m, but is yet to justify the price tag attached with him.
The Argentine was among those players who were signed soon after the Qatari takeover of PSG , but he has failed to make his place in the starting XI of the team and things have not turned exactly in his favour since PSG bought players like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Edinson Cavani..
Premier League leader Arsenal have been linked to the player and a potential bid in January could be made by the Gunners especially as Wenger is looking to maintain his top spot in the league.
On the other hand, PSG apparently did make a bid for Mata in the summer but Chelsea did not sell him then and it seems like Mourinho is not a big fan. The player has hardly made 10 appearances this season. However, Mata says that it is exactly not a worrying factor for him.
“I just try to keep myself going the same, no matter what kind of behaviour, because as a professional, you have to be ready for every situation and whether he does or doesn’t speak to you, you should never let that in any way affect the level of your performance,” Juan Mata said.
“But to be honest I’m the calmest person of them all because I believe in myself and always try to draw the positive things from the toughest moments, so I was okay then and I am okay now.”
