The place of Arsenal’s star man Aaron Ramsey is for sure set in the squad, especially with Mathieu Flamini injured due to a clash. Even Cazorla and Sagna could make an appearance as they were fit to play agaomst Norwich. Arsenal will have their key man Mesut Ozil, but they still have a long injury list including players like Theo Walcott, Lukas Podolski and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Mats Hummels will regain his place in the team, taking Sokratis’ place as he was ruled out due to suspension. Marcel Schmelzer is fit enough as he was on bench for the league game, but Klopp will have to decide whether to play him or the youngster Erik Durm.
Interestingly, Jurgen Klopp will not be standing at the touchline because he got into a little brawl of words with the fourth official and remains suspended.
Of the four past meetings between the team, two of them took place in 2011 – one of which was won 2-1 by Arsenal at the Emirates and the other ended as a 1-1 draw, while two of them took place in 2002, with Arsenal winning one 2-0 and Dortmund winning the other by a 2-1 margin.
Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs; Ramsey, Arteta; Wilshere, Ozil, Cazorla; Giroud.
Borussia Dortmund: Weidenfeller; Schmelzer, Hummels, Subotic, Großkreutz; Bender; Sahin; Reus, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang; Lewandowski.
Arsenal are in the form of their life. The Gunners have been on a thrashing spree and enjoy a very comfortable place in the league. However, thrashing Dortmund at the Emirates will not really happen as Klopp is a very smart manager. No matter who wins or loses tonight, one thing is for sure that this match will be an absolute delight to watch.
