Manchester United had a horrific season under David Moyes after being in contention for trophies for so many years. Sir Alex Ferguson did spoil a lot of Manchester United fans because of his habit of winning. Despite of having a weaker squad than Chelsea and Manchester City he did manage to win the league in 2013 by getting 110% of output even from not so world class players like Cleverley, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia.
The managerial change will certainly open exit doors for so many players and Cleverley is one of them. Tom had a good season under his belt in the year when United lost the title to City in the dying minutes which did show his potential. He’s not as a bad a player and is lacking confidence at the moment.
According to Daily Star, Cleverley did not agree to an extension to his current deal after speaking with new manager Louis van Gaal, with the Red Devils seemingly content to wait until later in the summer to make a decision on his future. Arsenal could perhaps be considered as a surprising next destination for Cleverley, with Gunners fans perhaps expecting a rather higher standard of new recruit to ensure that they are able to mount a credible bid for the Premier League title next season.
