Cesc Fabregas has had a number of clubs after him following the reactions of fans against him in a few games when he got booed by his very own Barcelona fans who were delighted with his inclusion in the squad. He has 13 assists this season but if you ask any Barcelona supporter he would shake his head in disappointment because of his performances.
Reports suggest that Arsenal were after their former captain too but it seems that they have decided to shift their aim towards Xavi Hernandez, which is very surprising. Xavi might be out of his prime but his vision still allows him to play for any top club in the world.
Although it’s extremely doubtful that Xavi would leave Barcelona at this stage in his career but the 34-year-old has a contract until 2016, which allows him to nicely run down that deal before considering retirement against a reduced role, playing on at the club where he’s created his reputation as one of the best ever midfielders to have played the game.
It would be remarkable if he did a Victor Valdes and decided that his future lays away from the Nou Camp when he has such an obvious and natural path to be able to finish his career in Spain.
