Olivier Giroud has had a tough last couple of months with unconvincing performances and some personal issues as he was accused of cheating on his wife with a model in the team’s hotel room. Following these issues, Olivier Giroud is going through divorce discussions with his wife and is expected to be axed by the French veteran Arsene Wenger at the end of this particular season.
According to The Sun, the France international has fallen out of favour with the Gunners boss and will be allowed to leave north London when the transfer window reopens.
Giroud was omitted from the starting line-up for Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final clash against Wigan Athletic at Wembley on Saturday, with Yaya Sanogo the preferred selection at the focal point of attack.
The Premier League giants made hard work of seeing off the holders, but booked their place in the final following a penalty shoot-out victory, with the 27-year-old striker netting one of the decisive spot-kicks after coming on late in the game. However, Giroud’s performance is unlikely to repair his relationship with Wenger, who feels he’s been let-down by the former Montpellier man after he was caught with a woman in the team’s hotel the night before a game earlier this year.
