The fresh and breathtaking performance yesterday against Norwich put forward an idea that Arsenal hardly need any strengthening in their squad as they ran riot with some sensational one touch football. The young gems of the Emirates seems to be understanding each other better and the signing of Ozil has certainly changed the mood around the club.
But Arsene Wenger has decided not to hold on to the current crop of players and is thinking of buying one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe, Karim Benzema, for a sum of 38m from Los Blancos.
This could see the French international, who was the subject of negative chants in recent weeks from the Madrid faithful, departing the club for pastures new with Wenger reportedly eyeing up the clinical front man to help strengthen his attack.
A report in French daily Le10 Sport now claims that football agent Francois Gallardo admitted an important Premier League club, thought to be Arsenal, will attempt to recruit him and that an offer of between £38 million and £43 million will be enough to see Benzema arriving at the Emirates Stadium.
The newspaper reported, “The club wants the transfer to happen this winter but if this is not possible, then next summer at the latest,” he is quoted as saying.”
