Gianluca Dimarzio has revealed that the North Londoners are holding talks in London with Vucinic’s agent to seal the signing of the striker who could become Arsenal’s first signing of the January transfer window.
The Gunners initially proposed a loan deal but the player wants to permanently move to the English side. It is said that Juventus are ready to sell the player when an opportunity comes. It will not be Arsenal’s first meeting with his agent and this meeting is likely to complete the deal.
Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur also want to sign the player but they do not have enough funds to sign him. Inter Milan are also interested in him but Arsenal will be the most likely destination for the striker.
The striker has made eight appearances for Juventus this season and has two goals to his name.
However despite these claims, Arsene Wenger denied these Vucinic rumours claiming that Arsenal were looking at players but they are not specifically in for the Juve striker. Wenger does understand that Arsenal needs to fortify their team if they are in for the title race, especially with Theo Walcott out for the rest of the season.
“We are looking at potential possibilities for us to get someone in, but we are not especially in for Vucinic. Some people have visual capacities that I don’t have. We are not on any special case. I would love to announce something that would excite you and me, but I don’t have the possibility to do it,” Wenger said.
