The Sun have reported today that Arsene Wenger could consider launching a bid for the Manchester United bound Mesut Ozil.
The newspaper – that is not trusted by many – reports that Arsenal are considering a bid of £38million as Wenger has not bought a single big star at Arsenal this summer.
The truth of the story can be jusdeg from the fact that it does not cite any sources, and neither does it have any quotes, so the news might just be a product of some bored writers looking for transfer news.
Ozil is not the first Madrid player to be linked to Arsenal as Gonzalo Higuain, Angel Di Maria, Karim Benzema and Iker Casilas were all linked with them, but it seems that Wenger never really wanted to bring any of them to London.
The Frenchman revealed that he was not really interested in Higuain, he spoke of how the Benzema deal could never take place which was further proved by Karim Benzema’s agent who said that the player wants to stay at Madrid. Iker Casillas link was rejected by almost everyone as a joke because that player breathes Real Madrid.
Di Maria could come, and Ozil’s situation would depend more on United than Arsenal.
