Some of the tabloids today have claimed that has literally shocked the transfer market and the fans especially the football pundits all around. It has been reported by Metro that Arsenal are eyeing a shock move for Younes Kaboul after the news of Yohan Djorou’s contract clause about a permanent move was being activated by Hamburg.
The publication have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur defender Younes Kaboul is ready to jump ship and join bitter rivals Arsenal – in a move not dissimilar to Sol Campbell’s all those years ago. If in any case Spurs allow Kaboul to leave and for Arsenal to boot, they will certainly face some tough questions from fans. This is not to mention the obvious abuse Kaboul is likely to get if he completes the switch across North London.
The French defender defecting to their North London rivals would be a huge blow for Tim Sherwood in an already rather difficult season, and we can only imagine how the board would even go about explaining this.
Spurs lost on Campbell on free back in 2001 and they surely can’t allow this to happen again. If the reports are considered to be true Spurs will have to do a lot of work; mainly offering Kaboul a new contract or sell him abroad.
