Reports are suggesting that the Arsenal boss does have a stronger transfer kitty this time around and he is going to spend big and prove everyone wrong. The Gunners have already highlighted the areas they need to strengthen and have given Arsene Wenger £100m to strengthen the squad.
They are in the market for two forwards, a goalkeeper, a central midfielder and may also need a right-back if Bacary Sagna leaves. Keen to avoid the mistakes he made last summer, Wenger wants to complete at least two deals before the Fifa tournament kicks-off, all-but delaying significant transfer business for a month.
Wenger has been heavily involved in the identification of the targets and to fill the loopholes in the squad. He is giving his all like every other day but his contract extension talks are yet to to be completed. His current contract runs out in the summer but a two-year deal has been verbally agreed.
Arsenal officials are assuming Wenger will be in charge next season despite his freedom to walk should another club manage to tempt him away from the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have three games left of the season including the FA Cup final against Hull City but scouting reports of targets are being finalized and meetings with agents are being arranged.
