Arsenal midfielder AbouDiaby has picked up a hip injury and consequently, he missed the Community Shield game for Arsenal. The report was published by ESPN who picked up this story from the French source L’Equipe.
Diaby has become very injury prone for the last few seasons and the player claimed last summer that he was considering an early retirement.
He had told The Mirror: “Sometimes it [retiring] crossed my mind – but my love of football is so big that I just couldn’t quit.
“I am still young, and now that I have an opportunity to play again I want to take it. I try to be positive all the time and that has helped me to come back.
The 28 year old has not played much in the last three seasons of the Premier League due to successive injuries. He missed the 2013-14 season due to a knee injury.
Diaby took part in Arsenal’s pre-season campaign where he played one half against the New York Red Bulls. He felt back pain throughout the game. Reports claim that the player has a swollen tendon on his left hip.
