Despite of Arsene Wenger’s resistance of not buying new players in this current transfer window, Daily Star has reported that Gunners are set to reveal not one, not two but three new signings. Arsenal are lining up an announcement to confirm deals in place to extend the contracts of manager Arsene Wenger as well as defensive pair Per Mertesacker and Bacary Sagna according to the Daily Star.
64 year old Gunners boss Wenger has apparently already agreed a deal to extend his contract, which was due to come to an end in the summer, a move that will see the Frenchman clock up over 20 years in charge of the North London club.
But while German centre-back Mertesacker has already given his approval to a new two-year deal to take him through to the summer of 2017, Sagna has proved tough to tie down.
Sagna has told the title-chasing Gunners he has attracted some great offers from overseas, claiming the likes of PSG, Real Madrid, Monaco, Bayern Munich and Galatasary are willing to offer him a four-year contract on £100,000 AFTER tax.
Also Arsenal have decided not to announce the Wenger deal until Mertasacker and Sagna’s deal are made official.
