Goal are suggesting this evening that contrary to those reports, Arsenal have NOT yet agreed a deal as Arsenal have so far only offered a maximum of £30m while Schalke are holding out for the full value of the players buy-out clause – which is set at £37.5m.
They also claim that the Germans want to secure a replacement before agreeing to let the attacking midfielder leave this month, with Tottenham’s Lewis Holtby believed to be their top target.
Other news that Goal has reported is that Sagna looks to be heading for an exit from the Emirates stadium as Gunners’ delegation fly to Frankfurt Germany for the potential signing of the right back Sebastian Jung.
The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of the season and is yet to come to an agreement over an extension, and he has plenty of interest from the likes of Monaco, PSG and Inter Milan.
With the stalemate on-going, it makes sense that Arsenal will look at options and it seems Arsenal are keen on Jung. The 23-yea-old is valued at around €8.5m (£7m) by Frankfurt but this is probably a deal Gunners will look to conclude in the summer if they can reach an agreement with the Germans.
