Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has tried to unsettle the position of Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund by claiming that the player’s release clause is only €25m.
It was initially assumed that the player’s release clause is €35m but Rummenigge has revealed that his initial value is lesser than it is reported.
Dortmund and Munich are not enjoying the best of relations these days since they have made two successive raids on Dortmund for Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski and these words have greatly angered Dortmund’s CEO.
“It is well known that the player is at Borussia Dortmund and that he has a release clause which, according to rumours, is €25m”, Rummeniggetold Sport Bild.
Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzkequickly replied: “Borussia Dortmund have noted with a certain annoyance that Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is making a comment via the media every three days with regards to internal Dortmund issues.
“We are certain that it is obvious for everyone interested in football what the purpose of such comments are.”
Reus has been linked to a lot of big clubs like Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
