Despite of signing Flamini on a free transfer and adding up to the position Arsenal had enough strength; Arsene Wenger is not giving up on the German starlet so easily even after making an official bid in the range of 20m for the box to box midfielder.
Lars Bender has impressed and gathered attention of lot of coaches from all over the world due to his power house of playing style and Arsenal are the front runners in the hunt for him.
Bender comes with the recommendation of Arsenal’s latest German Mesut Ozil, who is already having a big influence on their current crop of youngsters.
Leverkusen can afford to play hardball over Bender having sold Andre Schurrle to Chelsea and Dani Carvajal to Real Madrid earlier in the summer – and so are not under financial pressure to move on more of their first-team squad.
With Arsenal’s financial backup being strong this summer and coming January they will have to go for a world class striker but it will be interesting to see whether Arsene Wenger aims for another German to add in the squad despite of having enough quality in that position already.
