According to The Metro, Arsenal long serving Frenchman Wenger has hinted to the possibility of Julian Draxler’s move to Arsenal in the coming transfer window. After the move broke down in the very last minute the Arsenal fanbase was shattered as they failed to land a quality player which has been the case in bar the last season’s transfer window.
But Arsene Wenger has hinted that he will do all he can to acquire the services of the German prodigy who is sighted by many as one of the best talents of his age. The Gunners were expected to wrap up a £37million move for the Schalke star before last Friday’s deadline, but the transfer never materialised.
It has been suggested that the Premier League leaders may well have missed their chance, with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich tipped to go in for Draxler this summer.
However, Wenger has suggested that a move for the talented midfielder could still happen when the window opens again at the end of the current campaign.
Wenger said, “We are not against spending, but at the moment we are focused on the second part of the season. You have announced a lot of transfers in your papers that have not happened, in many places, that means it is not as easy as it looks, even with money, to buy the right players in that period.”
