Arsenal’s midfield is probably the most diverse in terms of the playing style where they have the likes of creative Ozil and Santo Cazorla along with hard working, energetic and passionate Wilshere, Ramsey and Flamini. But the signings which upgrades the squad should always be welcomed.

Talksports have revealed that Arsenal have entered into the race to sign Benfica’s midfielder/winger who has been on the radar of many top clubs in the world.

Matic, who once played for Chelsea earlier in his career, has been linked with a move back to the Premier League this January with Arsenal believed to have made the first move by contacting the midfielder’s agent Dejan Mitrovic about a possible deal. Matic left Chelsea for Benfica which saw David Luiz go the opposite way back in 2011, and has impressed Europe’s finest with his performances for the Portuguese outfit.

Matic has made 56 appearances in all competitions for The Eagles thus far, finding the back of the net just the six times.
However, with four-years still left to run on his existing deal at Estadio da Luz, interested clubs will have to fork out at least £20 million for the robust midfielder this month.
