Arsenal’s love story with injuries continues as another key player is most probably out of the next Premier League clash between Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion. Injuries have had a huge effect on Gunners’ performances this season but still they are well in placed for the Champions’ League football and an FA cup final.
Bacary Sagna is a doubt for Sunday’s crucial clash against West Brom. The always reliable Sagna has had a good season under his belt and is also been reported involved in a dispute with the club’s officials.
The France international is suffering from a swollen knee and is rated as 50/50 for the clash against Pepe Mel’s team.
The Gunners know victory will guarantee Champions League qualification ahead of fifth placed Everton – anything less leaves Arsene Wenger’s side facing a nervy final-day clash against Norwich to secure fourth spot.
And with the FA Cup final just two weeks away, the dilemma facing Wenger is whether to risk aggravating Sagna’s injury this weekend or save him for the final.
Kieran Gibbs and Jack Wilshere have both resumed training following respective hamstring and foot injuries but will not be considered for the clash against the Baggies.
Sagna, meanwhile, will hold talks with Manchester City following the Wembley clash against Hull on May 17.
