After the near heart attack against Wigan Athletic, Arsenal are finally into the FA cup final and now have a huge chance of ending their trophy drought against a tough side Hull City. Hull have been defensively very strong this season with not much giving to the teams who visit their stadium but they conceded three in the FA cup semifinal. So Arsene Wenger should manage to win the FA Cup this time.
The Gunners fans were left biting their nails at Wembley on Saturday evening as Lukasz Fabianski became a hero, saving two penalties to gift Arsenal a 4-2 shootout victory after the game had finished 1-1 against Wigan Athletic.
Lots and lots of talks regarding the future of French veteran have taken place past few months but rumors have been circulating around that Arsene Wenger is ready to sign the contract after Arsenal defeated Wigan in the FA Cup final.
The Frenchman has already agreed a £150,000-a-week, two-year deal in principle but has yet to put pen-to-paper, forcing Arsenal to make contingency plans in case Wenger changes his mind.
Both Stan Kroenke and Ivan Gazidis joined the Arsenal players in the Wembley dressing room to celebrate their victory but attentions will turn back to Wenger’s future after they face West Ham on Tuesday night.
Wenger has already given the club his word that he will stay and Gazidis remains less than concerned about the matter but is still keen to get everything signed.
After the win against Wigan, Wenger said: ‘The result of the final will not have any bearing on my future. Mentally it was important we didn’t go out tonight, the consequences if we had lost would have been worrying.’
