Lothar Matthäus doesn’t appear to be the kind of person who would ever accept people saying he was wrong, especially when he thinks he’s not. The German football legend, now 53 and a TV personality, has always been full of confidence and continues that in his current work.
Few days back there were reports regarding Arsenal signing Drmic but on Monday reports started flying around in Germany that he was going to Bayer Leverkuson which would’ve made Lothar wrong about an earlier claim that Drmic was going to Arsenal.
Lothar said, “Although now Dortmund, Gladbach and Leverkusen also have interest in him. I’m saying: Josip Drmic will switch to Arsenal.”
“Look, if a journalist hears something, he researches and writes about it. I’m kind of journalist at Sky and have heard the rumor of a move to Arsenal. I then found out that this is true and he’s going there. So all research is clear.”
Many clubs have been interested in Josip Drmic and if Arsenal have secured him then they’ve beaten off serious competition. Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are the three German teams said to be most interested.
