Arsene Wenger has been known in the past for signing several players on the last day of transfer window and he has revealed that the odds are high for the same thing happening again due to the imminent arrival of the world cup. Because of the World Cup, Arsene is doubtful that any transfer activity would end before the world cup.
The Arsenal boss claims his squad needs “two or three” signings to be contenders next season, but it could be a nervous summer for their fans.
He reiterated his determination to stay and can wrap up fourth spot this weekend, which should offer a Champions League cash windfall.
But Wenger is clearly worried about a summer of frustration, even though most Arsenal supporters are crying out for a major overhaul of the squad after watching their title challenge fall away this time.
He said, “It will be busy, but the main thing for us will be to keep the stability because we feel we are close. We want to add something that makes us even stronger, but, number wise, it will not be massive. “From my experience, the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable.”
